High Protein Pizza

If you are tired of waiting until your cheat meal to enjoy pizza, check out this simple high protein pizza recipe. Not only is this recipe high in protein, it is low in fat, low in sodium, and allows 2 slices per serving on a meal plan designed for weight loss.  This basic recipe can be easily adapted using alternative toppings to support a healthy lifestyle.

INGREDIENTS:

1 scoop Muscle Gauge Nutrition Whey Protein Isolate Unflavored

1/4 cup Almond Meal

1/2 1lb. Package Trader Joe’s Whole Wheat Pizza Dough

1/4 cup Goat Cheese

2 TBSP Trader Joe’s Fig Butter

8oz. Cooked 93% Lean Ground Turkey

2 TBSP Fresh Basil

Zero Calorie Olive Oil Spray

13” Non Stick Pizza Pan

INSTRUCTIONS:

Pre-heat oven to 425F.  Take ½ of the contents from a bag of Trader Joes Whole Wheat Pizza Dough and allow it to sit on the kitchen counter for 20 minutes.  Then, on a clean kitchen counter or on top of wax paper, pour ¼ cup Almond Meal and 1 scoop of unflavored Whey Protein Isolate onto the pizza dough.  Knead the ingredients into the dough by hand and carefully, and slowly flatten out the dough into a rounded 13” diameter pizza dough.

Once dough is ready, spray a 13” non-stick pizza pan with olive oil spray and gently slide the dough onto the pan.  Next, with a pastry brush, coat the dough with 2 tbsp of fig butter.  Take 8oz. of cooked 93% lean ground turkey and spread it onto the pizza. Next take ¼ cup of crumbled goat cheese and equally distribute onto the pizza surface.  Lastly, add 2 TBSP of chopped fresh basil onto the pizza surface.  Place into oven at 425F and allow it to cook for 8 minutes.  Once done, allow it to cool and slice into 8 portioned out pizza slices using a pizza cutter.  Enjoy!!!
