Gluten Free Turkey Bagel Recipe
Gluten Free Turkey Bagel
Introduce some variety into your meal plan with this amazing gluten free bagel recipe that is high in protein and low in carbs. Instead of having sandwiches loaded with starches that will be stored as bodyfat (if you don’t burn them off), try this meal idea to add more protein to your diet to support fat loss.
Ingredients:
16 oz. Ground Turkey 96% Lean (Can substitute with ground chicken or beef)
1/2 cup Liquid Egg Whites
1/2 cup Garbanzo Beans
3 TBSP Trader Joe’s African Smoke Seasoning
2 Slices of Eggplant/Zucchini from Trader Joe’s Misto alla Griglia Marinated Grilled Eggplant and Zucchini (frozen)
Directions:
Pre-heat the oven to 350F. Combine all ingredients together (except eggplant/zucchini) and mix well. Lightly coat a non-stick donut tray with zero-calorie olive oil spray and spoon in blended contents as shown in the image above. Bake for 35-40 minutes, then remove from pan. Flip bagels so the “rounded” side is up and spray with olive oil spray and set oven to broil for 60-90 seconds to brown the skin. Makes 9 bagels. If you don’t have a donut tray, you can form rounded bagels on a flat non-stick tray and bake for 35-40 minutes, then broil for 60-90 seconds. Once “bagels” have cooled, serve as a sandwich with 2 slices of zucchini/eggplant from Trader Joe’s with fresh basil. Can substitute with avocado, tomato, and many more ideas.
